Description
This painting began as a "dreamscape" exercise on the conceptart.org LevelUp program. My subscription for the program ended, but I finished the painting anyways.
This is painted 95% with ArtRage with some tuning done in Photoshop. In a way this was a test on how far I can take it with ArtRage and the thruth is that everything could have been
done using ArtRage. The only issue I had was that the software slowed down some with a LOT of layers and fairly high resolution. I really love the oils in ArtRage and the support for references etc. in ArtRage! The UI is really friendly.
In a way I'm not that happy with this painting but in part it's because of the idea and design of the hive structure. I don't know. I enabled critique so please give critique or comment otherwise.
I posted a more in depth analysis on my blog on Tumblr. You can also find the work in progress shots there. I will continue to post WIP, studies and stuff on my Tumblr and Twitter so check them out!

This is stunning! The blue highlights fit so well with the yellow colours of the sky. I saw this piece in the BrilliantArtGallery, and I just had to click on it! It truley is brilliant!
