Distant Memory

Oil on canvas 22 cm x 27 cm or 8,7" x 10,6"

This portrait is about a boy and his mother. The boy lost his mother when he was very young and had to flee his home country. He is now a man and I painted this small portrait for him. The only reference I had available was two separate old and damaged black and white photos. It was a challenge to find the features from these photos and to come up with the colors.
